Great escape
Last 27th August, 2013 we were coming back from Calicut after visiting my relatives house and I was driving my Ritzy and I decided to take a peaceful and scenic route via Wayanad-Ooty-Mettupalayam; My vehicle was packed with 6 members.
Ghat section started at Tharamarasherry and from there Gudalur-Ooty then Mettupalayam that was my plan; Since too much of twists and turns on the road i was frequently using the breaks and forgot a basic rule that Break Drum will not tolerate more heat generated by frequent break in hills.. then we were coming down from Cunnoor towards Mettupalayam in steep down hill and i was always in 3rd and 4th gears with frequent breaking.... In the 20th kilometer that happen...!
Break failure...!!!!
Just imagine.... I was coming down in a speed of 40kms per hour and the road had too many hairpin bends...and in front of my vehicle there was a lorry...I came to know that break is totally exhausted and i just immediately informed my cousin in low voice who was seated in rear seat and I didn't panic...
Surprise and it was only gods grace that I managed to control the vehicle and halted the vehicle in a road side shop near by...
The shop keeper (part time driver) advised me to pour water in break drum but technically my cousin Manoj had given me a tip that not to pour water in this situation because the Tyre will get damaged;
I conveyed the same to the shop keeper and decided to wait for half hour to let the break drum and break oil to get cooler enough for a safety travel further.
Note: One golden tip the shop keeper gave is.... whichever gear you are using while climbing the hill, the same gears you should use while coming down from the hill too...!
Just for this tip i tipped him 100 rupees, yes its a life saving tip for everyone!
Thank god that we safely reached home after the complete breake failure in Ooty down hill.

22 Female Kottayam
Its one of the notable-recent Malayalam movie which surprised me by its making and i appreciate the guts of Rima Kallingal and Fahadh Faasil to accept the role in the film. Fahadh Fassil is very much impressive.
Hats off to the 22 F team!!!
